Ways to Look After Your Eye Health

Family Portraits.jpg
At The Eyewear Stylist, there is more to my eyewear experience than just choosing your frames. I can also help you identify which lenses will ensure that you get the maximum benefits from your fabulous new pair of eyewear, as well as offering advice on maintaining the health of your eyes.
In this article, I’m going to share three of my top ways to take care of your eye health. So, let’s jump right into it!

Vitamins and Minerals
Vitamins and minerals can be purchased in supplements or by choosing the correct foods in your diet. Vitamins A, C, and E, along with the correct minerals and antioxidants can combine to prevent degeneration of the macular. The macular is a part of your eye that controls the main source of your vision. Foods that contain omega-3 are also great for maintaining your eye health.

Plenty of these vitamins and minerals can be found in these foods:
• Carrots
• Citrus fruits
• Strawberries
• Red peppers
• Broccoli
• Spinach

There are so many other options to find these beneficial ingredients in. You can search online, read a nutrition book, or even ask your optician for advice!

Protecting Your Eyes from the Sun
Yes, sunglasses do protect your eyes from UV rays from the sun, but selecting your regular prescription frames, it’s great to choose lenses that can protect your eyes too.

By not protecting your eyes from the sun, you can develop different eye conditions such as macular degeneration, cataracts, and pingueculas. It is vital to make sure you are protecting your eyes from UV rays as much as you can, so be sure to opt for the UV filter even in your day-to-day glasses. My anti-ageing glasses even protect the sensitive skin around your eyes from harmful rays!

Regular Eye Examinations
Having your eyes tested once every two years is the minimum to keep your eye health in check. Even if you think nothing has changed, it’s always worth going to your opticians to have your eyes tested as they will be able to detect any possible issues. The earlier signs are detected, the more effective the treatment plans will be!

Eye tests can be booked online, over the phone, or even in-store. Take a look on your chosen optician’s website to find out how you can keep a check on your eye health. For more information about my luxury eyewear brands, or then visit my website and book your consultation today!
