During my talk with Professor Shelby Temple, we talked about the myths surrounding blue light and if the glasses really do work.

We explained how people working with computers and other electronic devices can suffer from certain eye strains and pains. There are a number of ways to protect and strengthen your eye health. Foods such as lean meats, proteins, green vegetables, carrots, red berries, and guava, are just some of the foods that are packed with vitamins and minerals to help protect your eyes.

Professor Shelby Temple also explained the reality of blue light glasses. If you’re working at a computer all day and want to unwind, he recommends wearing these blue light-blocking glasses 1-2 hours before bed to increase your melatonin and therefore help you sleep. These types of glasses block out up to 30% of blue light. There’s definitely no downside to having blue light lenses and would benefit you whether you wear them inside or outside.

To watch the whole livestream, it’s available to watch on my Instagram @eyewear_stylist. Thanks so much to Professor Shelby Temple for your time and excellent knowledge!
